For emergency situations, Maine Neurology's Urgent Care program handles acute problems requiring quick attention, with a referral from the patient's primary care provider. Most patients are seen within 24-48 hours. Urgent Care allows patients to avoid an emergency room (hospital) visit and unnecessary testing. - Seizures, spells and syncope
- TIA's, recent strokes
- Subacute neurological deficits
- Nerve injuries, cervical/lumbar radiculopathy
- Altered mental status
- Abnormal MRI readings
- Optic neuritis, amaurosis fugax, diplopia
- Vertigo, acute ataxia
